Bitch Goddess: A new  group of liberated heroines arose in the 70’s who displayed aggressive  natures that often put them at odds with the world around them. Above, Mantis, and at right, Thundra.

The Cat Came Back: The Cat, left was an attempt to introduce a liberated superheroine, 1972. The character bombed, and she was reinvented as the much sexier, and much more popular, Tigra.
