Next a couple of favorites from my youth-Thundra, one of the first of the fierce feminist heroines of the 70’s. (see right)

Below, the Wasp, wearing one of her coolest costumes, as drawn by the great George Perez.

NEW FIGURES

I’m sure this is most comic book fan’s least favorite Power Girl costume (see right).  I‘ll admit it was not one of her best looks, but she also had some that were worse. I was always somewhat intrigued by this costume, even though it’s got some problems. I figured DC Direct has done so many figures of Peege in her classic costume, we’d never see this version brought to life...until now.

At left, Triplicate Girl, perennial “girl next door” of the Legion of Superheroes. She wore several variations of this costume, but I went for the Curt Swan era version.

Polar Boy- I made the Polar Boy figure on the far left last year, but was never quite satisfied with his face. I got a great 1/6 scale head of the late Heath Ledger as the Joker, and switched out the head to make a Polar Boy more to my liking. I also switched to his “icy” hairstyle and fur-trimmed costume as drawn by Keith Giffen.

I loved Paul Smith’s run as artist on Uncanny X-Men back in the early 1980’s. I particularly liked his rendition of

Kitty Pryde (see left), when she was still a sweet 14 year-old, and hadn’t turned into the tough, leather-clad Shadowcat.

At right,  Catwoman, in the costume she wore during the  early 70’s. I never  liked the Pilgrim buckles that she had on her boots, so I left them off. I went a little more in the Sally Bowles from Cabaret direction.

I’m looking to thin out my figure collection a bit, so I’ve added a new SALE section, where I’ll list a variety of figures that I’m offering for sale.
